The first phase of the refurbishment of a historical 3 sided farmyard is the reworking of a old pigsty into a residential building. The former servant rooms above the pigsty were removed and replaced by a massive wood construction. Similar to the earlier design of the chapel in Attaching the construction was done with vertically layered wooden boards. The pigsty underneath with its heterogeneous granite walls was cleared out and larger window openings were placed. The rough window reveals made from insulated concrete are an interpretation of typical details found at these sort of buildings. A simple cube, also made from insulated concrete replaces the chicken house and serves as a pantry.
