2011-07-25 SHAU has been granted a subsidy from the Stimuleringsfonds voor architectuur under the program 'Open Call Urban Design Innovation in the International Context.' SHAU's winning proposal is Social Mall Jakarta, a project to negotiate public facilities into half-empty malls as an urbanistic solution for neighbourhoods and mall developers. It is a collaboration project with andramatin, a prominent architecture office in Indonesia.
2011-07-20 SHAU has been invited to participate in a jongarsitek! exhibition 'Houses without Doors' at the DiaLoGue gallery, Kemang, Jakarta. The exhibition ran from 1-20 July 2011. SHAU showcased Beads House, a concept house that turns doors, windows and walls into millions of beads.
2011-07-10 Open City Jakarta has been exhibited at the Indonesian Creative Products Week (PPKI) 2011 at the Jakarta Convention Center. It is the biggest national product exhibition in Indonesia where we contributed into the category 'the City as a Product'.
2011-07-08 Florian Heinzelmann and Michela Turrin together with Joe Wu and Mauricio Morales Beltran gave a workshop to students of University of Kentucky, College of Design about Adaptive Daylighting Structures. The workshop was organized by Assistant Professor Kyle Miller and made possible by the TU Delft Adaptive Building Systems research group.
